The training provides skills required to operate a pharmacy including the correct pharmaceutical procedures. Even after the person has earned the PTCB certification he/she is required to do certain things to continue holding the certification. A Certified Pharmacy Technician has to obtain twenty hours of continuing education for recertification. This continuing education has to be received within two years of original certification or previous recertification. This has to be done every two years.
